Bethesda, Maryland (October 22, 2007) - Stratos Global Corp. (TSX: SGB), the leading global provider of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions, today introduced its new aeronautical broadband satellite communications solution based on Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband service. SwiftBroadband from Stratos is available now in packages designed for government and military agencies, commercial airlines and private jet owners.

For government and military agencies, SwiftBroadband from Stratos provides high-performance, secure and reliable access to command-and-control information resources on the ground, facilitating situational awareness. The service enables commercial and private jet passengers to stay in touch with high-speed Internet, email and voice connectivity. In addition, pilots can use SwiftBroadband from Stratos to maintain direct contact with air-traffic control, receive real-time weather information, access the most fuel-efficient oceanic flight paths and transmit aircraft position and maintenance status to ground staff.

SwiftBroadband from Stratos is the aeronautical version of Inmarsat's successful Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service. Since its introduction in 2005, BGAN has been widely adopted for land-mobile applications by military and NGO agencies, media organizations, first responders and professionals in many other industries worldwide.

Customers using SwiftBroadband from Stratos will benefit from The Stratos Advantage, a wide range of value-added services that ensure optimal communications performance and cost efficiency. The most notable Stratos Advantage value-added service is the Stratos Dashboard, which enables customers to manage their usage of SwiftBroadband from Stratos by providing real-time information on voice and data traffic used, with associated costs. The Stratos Dashboard further enhances the user experience of SwiftBroadband from Stratos by providing fast provisioning, as well as rebilling and reporting options to minimize unexpected invoices and potential financial risk.

The Stratos Dashboard is used by all Stratos partners and the majority of customers who deploy BGAN from Stratos worldwide. The Dashboard is also expected to be widely used worldwide by customers who will be deploying SwiftBroadband from Stratos, FleetBroadband from Stratos and Inmarsat Satellite Phone Services from Stratos.

SwiftBroadband from Stratos provides cost-effective, high-speed data and voice communications - available simultaneously - at speeds up to 432kpbs. It also provides on-demand guaranteed IP data rates, regardless of the aircraft's location. The service is compatible with most government-grade encryption and secure-communications standards.

SwiftBroadband from Stratos will work through existing Inmarsat equipment already installed on more than 4,000 aircraft, through upgrades of existing Inmarsat Swift64 and Inmarsat Aero H/H+ installations.

SwiftBroadband from Stratos is now available in the Atlantic and Indian Ocean regions. Full global coverage is expected by the end of 2008, commencing with the launch of Inmarsat's third I-4 satellite.

As the world's largest and most experienced Inmarsat Aero partner, Stratos was the first Inmarsat Distribution Partner to be appointed as a SwiftBroadband distributor. In October 2006, Stratos was the first to conduct SwiftBroadband flight trials. In the aircraft cabin, multiple users connected to the SwiftBroadband service. They reported an improved experience compared to using bonded Swift64 channels on the same terminal during the early phase of the flight.

Stratos President and CEO Jim Parm said, "We expect SwiftBroadband from Stratos to become the standard for cost-effective aircraft fleet and mission management. We have leveraged our experience as one of the world's largest distributors of Inmarsat services to offer a robust, secure aeronautical communications solution backed by a global support network."

Stratos is the only LESO (Land Earth Station Operator) reaching all Inmarsat satellites. Stratos owns and operates its own satellite communications infrastructure, which ensures direct access to Tier 1 networks. This infrastructure includes teleports and satellite hub stations in North America and Europe.
